Kyiv Music Fest: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

This time Kyiv Music Fest consisted of 23 events, including five symphony concerts (“Music Frescoes,” “In Memoria,” “With an Angel on the Shoulder,” “Mystery of Sounds,” and “Symphony Premieres”), four choral concerts (“21st-Century Ukrainian Religious Music,” “Choral Concerts. Soiree of Premieres,” “Blahovist Presents…,” and “Divine Gift.

Kyiv to be jazzed up

The Ukrainian capital will host Jazz in Kyiv–2009 on October 16–18, 2009. The fest is to be honored by Al Jerro and Dave Holland, multiple winners of the Grammy awards. There will also be master classes, club jam sessions, after parties, and jazz cinema nights with Leonid Goldstein.

Mini-Dreamland

Ukraine’s first and virtually only (in literary critics’ opinion) surrealist poet Bohdan Ihor Antonych would be happy. The poet’s centenary, which he fell short of by 72 years, was marked in his fatherland with honors matching his humble nature.

“Jazz music and more”

VINNYTSIA — Den’ has carried features attracting the reader’s attention to regional television companies, including their numerous problems and programs that appear to be exploits, considering the obsolete equipment and meager budget. These programs look even more daring when produced and broadcast by government-run channels.
