As usual, Bohdan Mochurad, conductor of the Zankovetska Theater Orchestra in Lviv, will bring together on the theater’s stage performers who are known all over Ukraine – Lesia Horova, Kuzma Skriabin, Sashko Polozhynsky, front man of TIK band Viktor Broniuk, frontman of Mandry band Serhii Fomenko, winner of The Voice of the Country TV project Pavlo Tabakov, and vocal formation Pikkardiiska Tertsiia, as well as blind singers Anna Faderewska from Warsaw, Stepan Honcharenko and Ziera Kiradzhyieva from Simferopol, Maria Shvardak from Mukacheve, Viktoria Dudik and Svitlana Pashkina from Lviv, Mykola Pryshnivsky from Ternopil, Natalia Sliusarchuk from Vinnytsia, Vasyl Sukach from Lutsk, and Harmony band from Zhytomyr. The event’s program, to be held on January 23 at 6 p.m., will include Ukrainian and world music classics, modern composers’ works, instrumental music, and a capella works.

The Day covered the unique vocal project The Life Has Opened more than once before. It involves blind singers who, accompanied by the Zankovetska Theater Orchestra conducted by Mochurad, perform Ukrainian and world music classics, folk songs and songs by contemporary composers.

Let us recall that this project was conceived and realized in 2008 by the Lviv Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian NGO Ukrainian Union of Disabled, the Zankovetska Theater Orchestra, and opera and popular music stars. All musicians always perform for free at these concerts. Its uniqueness lies in practical complexity of having blind soloists perform accompanied by the orchestra due to their inability to see the conductor’s baton and, in most cases, their lack of special musical education. We should add that all concerts of The Life Has Opened project are held in an incredibly friendly environment, with all performances by star singers and blind performers alike receiving standing applause and shouts of “Bravo!”
