Jazz-Forum will be held in Donetsk

The international jazz festival will be held in Donetsk again on January 25 through 27. It will take place for the fourth time. This year it will be dedicated to the memory of the outstanding trumpeter Valerii Kolesnykov.

The event was held for the first time in January 2010. It was attended by jazz bands and first-class performers from Ukraine, Russia, America, Germany, etc. then, while the upcoming fourth Jazz-Forum will see the best bands and performers from Donetsk, Kyiv, Moscow and other cities. Ray Brown Jr., son of the legendary Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Brown, will be the festival’s headliner.

It should be noted that Donetsk is a long-standing center of jazz music. The city was the jazz capital of Ukraine in the 1960s, Do#J band emerged there later on, and Jazz-Forum is continuing the tradition.
