“Library is a territory of unity”

On the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries all readers and book lovers could visit a variety of events. Some became readers of the library without paying for the library tickets, others – replenished the fund of the library with new books. Everyone could sign the books he presented, so that the readers knew who took care of them. Those who wanted to become a librarian when they were children, but later chose a different profession, got a unique opportunity: to become a librarian for an hour and see the other side of the book depository.

However, the greatest stir was caused by the action “A Night in the Library.” “The idea emerged very long ago. This year’s library night is held for the second time. Many people know the comedy Night at the Museum, where according to the plot the museum items came to life at night and lived their own interesting life. That is why the idea of the night in a library is to show the community of the city how one can spend time in the library in a non-standard and interesting way and celebrate the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries. Last year’s event was very successful: it had a rich program, gathered a full house, and received positive reviews. This year we have changed a bit the format of the night. Its motto is ‘Library is the Territory of Unity’ to support the servicemen from the ATO area,” chief librarian of the department of services of the Zakarpattia Potushniak Oblast Library Yevhenia Napuda told us. The festivities include the presentation of the creative work of young litterateurs and new works of the master of the word, performances of the band Etiud, juggler Oleksand Shahur, amateur musician Yulii Hustia, etc.
