The Christian Volunteer Movement initiative group was joined by the Military Chaplaincy NGO and the Grace Foundation for the Works of Mercy, Revival, and Development on August 15-16, as they held a volunteer ethnic fair, the second such event this year (the first one took place on July 11; our coverage of it can be accessed at www.day.kiev.ua). The capital’s Mykhailivska Square hosted an auction of handicrafts and jewelry, art workshops, crash courses in tactical medicine and self-defense, etc. The fair brought together over 100 craftspeople. According to a newly-mint tradition, the square also saw a great weaving session, involving the group calling itself in jest “the Net Battalion” and all concerned citizens willing to help it. Meanwhile, participants of the “Combat Seamstresses” project cut and sewed underwear for our defenders, and taught all comers to do it, too. They also called upon all to help not only with their labor, but materials and fittings as well.

According to the Christian Volunteer Movement’s Facebook report, the volunteer ethnic fair brought 35,055 hryvnias and 2 euros in total, and saw over 300 square meters of camouflage nets woven!

These funds will be directed to cover the needs of the soldiers serving with the 57th and 81st army brigades and the “Donbas” battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine.
