Lviv is hosting an ice symposium. Leopolitan ice sculptors, led by Myroslav Dedyshyn, benefited from the winter’s return to the city. Ice sculptures are being erected in the Rynok, the Lion’s City’s oldest square (“the Lion’s City” is the literal translation of Lviv’s name, as the city was named to honor the Galician-Volhynian prince Lev, whose name means “lion” in English. — Author). At the Christmas fair the sculptors managed to create an ice-house — the first in Ukraine. The idea of the ice-house was conceived by the famous Lviv sculptor Myroslav Dedyshyn; for years, he, together with his colleagues, has surprised citizens and guests of the city with snow and ice figures. The ice-house is an ice structure over two meters tall in the traditional architectural style of Lviv. Anybody is allowed to go inside and have some delicious tea or coffee...

s a member of the Ukrainian artistic team, Myroslav Dedyshyn is preparing to go to Canada to represent our country at the most famous international festival of snow sculptures in Quebec.
