The house, where the founder of the Apple Company Steve Jobs spent his teenage years got on the list of protected historical monuments of Los Altos, California. The City Historical Commission unanimously voted to provide the one-story white building with dark brown tile roof a new status.

The local authorities believe that with the adoption of this decision Los Altos will become a tourist “Mecca” for fans of “Apple products.” Jobs’ family moved in this three-bedroom house built in 1952 on Crist Drive when Steve studied in the seventh grade. But the main landmark for the Apple fans is the garage, where Jobs and his friend Steve Wozniak designed and assembled the first 50 “Apple 1” computers. Young people spent almost all their free time in the first Apple “headquarters.” Jobs’ father helped the boys to set all the equipment there. Meanwhile, the authorities have announced their decision with little warning. The thing is that the owner of the property is Jobs’ sister Patricia. The vote for granting the building the historical status was carried out without her written permission. The relative of the founder of Apple has 10 days to make an appeal against the decision.
