Tons of coffee from around the world have arrived in Lviv

Fragrant coffee, drive music, theater performances, evening film screenings, coffee-themed souvenirs, latte art, giant coffee cake and much more... Lviv, the Lion City, is inviting everyone to come on September 26-29 to the nation’s most fragrant festival, the urban holiday “Come to Lviv for a Cup of Coffee,” held for the seventh year in row. Best Lviv coffeehouses have already brewed tons of the most delicious coffee, brought from all over the world! The celebrations will include the traditional vote, this time for the Best Coffee House of 2013. Arrival of the coffee king and queen will be an intriguing moment of the festival, with the royal pair then going on a traditional tour of the city in search of the most hospitable coffeehouse with the most delicious coffee. A special coffee blend will be developed exclusively for the “Come to Lviv for a Cup of Coffee” festival, to be available only during the event. The festival blend will include unusual coffee bean varieties that will be roasted immediately before sale. The celebrations will see unique coffee candles displayed, too, handmade at a candle factory. Visitors will be able to not only buy them, but also make one on their own and decorate it with coffee beans. A special coffee-mail will function, called From Lviv with Love, allowing everyone to send a creative coffee-themed postcard to any place in the world! The festival will also see the Western Ukrainian Barista Championship held, gathering best baristas of Lviv and western Ukraine to compete with each other. The Coffee Mile bicycle ride will be held on September 28. “Cycling is growing more popular and stronger in numbers in Lviv,” the festival’s director Andrii Sydor said. “The city’s cycling infrastructure is developing and increasingly resembling the experience one has when cycling in great cities of Western Europe.
