WHY DO I READ THE DAY? 

I should mention that Den gains strength with each month. It carries extraordinarily interesting publications. And the fact that it is supplemented by an English-language weekly digest, The Day, is very important. This makes it possible for both high school and university students not only to follow the news in Ukraine but to do so through the prism of a foreign language, to polish their own language skills, and this kills two birds with one stone. I would only hope that similar publications could be done in German, French, Spanish, and even some of the Oriental languages. This would only elevate the newspaper to an even higher level. The English language of your digest is good. This is recognized even by native speakers who read your newspaper. Although your translations are done by Ukrainians, not by native speakers, native speakers feel it is closest to the norms of literary English.
