On January 19 in Zaporizhia, ATO soldiers donated a battle flag that traveled to many hot spots of Donbas to Zaporizhia Local History Museum. The flag with signatures of Ukrainian soldiers was handed to the museum director by Serhii Kyryk, demobilized sergeant-major, on behalf of the soldiers enlisted in 93th separate mechanized brigade.

“I want to donate this battle flag – and I fully believe the word is appropriate, because it travelled Vodiane, Avdiivka, Opytne, Donetsk Airport, and Pisky,” says Serhii Kyryk. “We took down the banner from an infantry fighting vehicle and pass it to our museum in Zaporizhia, so that our posterity may know the history.”

The banner from the ATO zone will be placed in the museum hall that hosts the exhibition entitled “ATO: The War for Independence.”

“It is apparent, that this flag was through many predicaments. I want to tell everyone who is there now: please, come back alive and healthy,” said Mykhailo Mordovsky, director of the museum, thanking the soldiers.

After the flag presentation, Colonel Mykhailo Lohvinov, deputy of Zaporizhia Regional Military Commissariat, along with veterans of the World War Two and veterans of Afghanistan, handed the combatant certificates to soldiers who were mobilized during the first and second mobilization waves. According to the colonel, as of today approximately 600 soldiers in Zaporizhia oblast were awarded this legal status.
