Hear the talented!

Fresh Route No. 1. Indigo tells how the world of Ukrainian children can change the world of adults for best
28 May, 11:39

In the new Route No. 1 the creative team of Den newspaper continues to research Ukrainian optimistic stories. This time it is the world of ideas, creativity, and discoveries, wise and not banal – the world of children.

“You always need to hear the voices of children. Especially today. Probably, we are going through the hard times namely because adults did not hear children well-timely,” Den’s editor-in-chief Larysa Ivshyna writes in her traditional column. “I recall that many years ago we at the newspaper held an action for children ‘What do you want to do for Ukraine?’ And it inspired me very much   – there were touching stories when parents noted the thoughts of children, in particular, those who couldn’t read or write, but had their own view on life. One boy asked his mother to write the following, ‘I want to grow up as soon as possible to help adults, because I see that they cannot cope.’ Isn’t this marvelous?”

In mass media the image of children is very simple and “childish.” Few people pay attention to the interesting thoughts of the new generation. In fact, they can discover “new worlds,” to which adults should pay attention.

For many years in succession Den gives an opportunity to speak to talented children. These are scientists, athletes, and musicians. Our photo exhibit has a category “World through the eyes of children,” and this is always an interesting angle. In one of the previous glossy supplements we already reconsidered the image of modern Ukrainian woman. In this Route we are trying to familiarize grown-up readers with the wise and interesting world of Ukrainian children. Believe us, there will be enough of discoveries.

In April the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Ukrainian abbreviation MANU) presented TOP 10 inventions. Den asked the head of the MANU Oksen Lisovy and children-developers on the way from a young inventor to a successful scientist. To make you intrigued, we will mention that children have developed a drone for guarding the borders and a vacuum refrigerator to transport organs. Isn’t it impressive?

The topics you will find on the pages of the fresh Route No.1 include secrets of raising children by journalist Otar Dovzhenko and MP Hanna Hopko, reviews of books for children and teenagers who want to know more and are not afraid of complicated topics, intellectual games with national characters, as well as interviews with 10-year-old Anna Klymovets, who won the Mini-Miss of the World title for the second time, and 11-year-old violinist Varvara Vasylieva who has been conquering Ukraine and other European countries for several years. And, of course, stylish infographics – a wise journey across Ukraine for children.

And this is not nearly all. So, ask for Den’s monthly glossy supplement Route No. 1. Indigo this Friday, May 29, on newsstands or order it on Den’s website.
