A patriotic calendar has been presented in Kirovohrad

The money from the sale of the calendar Flourished Song will be directed to help the children of the servicemen, killed in the east. At the moment these are 22 children from 14 families. The project is a brainchild of the Dobrotvir Foundation and Merited Folk Craftswoman of Ukraine Larysa Zorina. Every page of the calendar is dedicated to one of Ukrainian folk holidays: from Christmas and Pancake Week to Trinity and St. John’s Day. It does not have a fixed price: the buyer can pay as much as s/he finds necessary.

According to Zorina, she has dreamt for a long time to create a calendar based on her pictures, therefore when she received an offer to use her pictures for helping children whose parents were killed in the ATO, she agreed right away.

“While our servicemen are fighting for peace, we in the home front must help the children who lost their parents. Of course, one thing is to enjoy the fact that your many-year work is realized in a complete product, and quite a different thing is when you can join helping the children of the ATO servicemen,” Zorina said.

Over 10,000 hryvnias were raised during the presentation of Flourished Song. The Monitoring Council, including servicemen, volunteers, representatives of the Dobrotvir Foundation, journalists, and clergy will control over the incomings and use of funds. The words of the Kirovohrad and Holovanivka bishop of UOC KP Mark, who called for unity in good cause and inspired people with hope for victory, was a kind of a blessing: “Every picture in this calendar is a shot against the Russian propaganda. It is proof that we are a people with a unique culture and great tradition. It is not the first time we are facing such trials. I believe that God is on our side, because today we are defending our Fatherland. We are defending it in the way our heart tells us to defend. This calendar indicates that with small good deeds we are doing great good. So, let’s unite in our good actions.”
